Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) breaks skills into small, teachable steps and uses positive reinforcement to build them, while reducing behaviours that interfere with learning, such as aggression, tantrums or repetitive self-stimulating behaviour. It is most often recommended for children with a confirmed or suspected autism spectrum diagnosis, and for children whose behaviour is significantly affecting family life, schooling or safety.
At The Outcomes ABA, therapy is never a standard package. Every plan starts from an assessment of your child's current skills, interests and what gets in the way of learning, and is written so that a parent can understand what is being worked on and why.
What our ABA programme includes
- A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designs and supervises every plan, based on a real assessment rather than a standard package.
- Goals are broken into specific, measurable steps, reviewed on a fixed schedule, typically every two weeks.
- Reinforcement strategies are chosen based on what actually motivates your child, not a generic reward system.
- Every session includes structured data collection, so decisions are based on evidence, not guesswork.
- Teaching blends structured practice with natural, play-based moments so skills carry over beyond the therapy room.
Who aba therapy helps
- Children with a confirmed or suspected autism diagnosis
- Children with frequent tantrums, aggression, self-injury or elopement
- Children who are struggling to learn from everyday teaching
- Families who want a clear, measurable plan and regular updates
How it works
- Assessment: We observe your child, speak with you about goals and daily routines, and assess current skills.
- Individual plan: The supervising BCBA writes goals in measurable steps and chooses reinforcement that suits your child.
- Sessions: Therapists work one-to-one with your child, recording data throughout each session.
- Review: Progress is reviewed regularly and the plan is adjusted. You are coached on using strategies at home.

Common questions
This depends entirely on your child's assessment and goals. We'll recommend a starting point after the initial assessment and adjust based on progress.
ABA is most often used for autism, but its behaviour strategies also help children with other developmental and behavioural needs. A clinical assessment decides what is appropriate for your child.
Yes. Parent involvement is central. You will receive updates, and we show you simple strategies to use at home so progress carries over.
Earlier is generally better because young children learn quickly, but ABA can help children of many ages. An assessment is the best first step if you have concerns.
