Our ABA Therapy & Child Development Services

All under one BCBA-supervised roof, ABA, speech, occupational and behavioural therapy, special education, and more, each built around your child's own assessment.

ABA Therapy

Applied Behavior Analysis breaks skills into small, teachable steps and uses positive reinforcement to build them, while reducing behaviours that interfere with learning, such as aggression, tantrums or repetitive self-stimulating behaviour. It's most often recommended for children with a confirmed or suspected autism spectrum diagnosis, and for children whose behaviour is significantly affecting family life, schooling or safety.

  • A Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) designs and supervises every plan, based on a real assessment rather than a standard package.
  • Goals are broken into specific, measurable steps, reviewed on a fixed schedule, typically every two weeks.
  • Reinforcement strategies are chosen based on what actually motivates your child, not a generic reward system.
  • Every session includes structured data collection, so decisions are based on evidence, not guesswork.
How many hours per week does ABA therapy typically require? +

This depends entirely on your child's assessment and goals. We'll recommend a starting point after the initial assessment and adjust based on progress.

Speech Therapy at The Outcomes ABA Chennai

Speech Therapy

Speech therapy addresses how a child produces sounds and words, how well they understand language, and how they use language to express themselves and interact with others. It helps late talkers, children with specific speech sound errors, and children who struggle with the back-and-forth of conversation.

  • We assess receptive and expressive language separately, since a child can be strong in one and behind in the other.
  • Sessions blend structured practice with genuine play-based communication opportunities.
  • For minimally verbal children, we introduce augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools where appropriate.
  • Speech goals are coordinated with your child's ABA and occupational therapy goals for consistency across sessions.
Can speech therapy help a nonverbal child? +

Yes. Therapy for nonverbal or minimally verbal children often focuses on building functional communication first, through gestures, picture systems or AAC devices, alongside continued spoken language work.

Occupational Therapy

Paediatric occupational therapy supports how a child processes sensory input, how they use their body for fine motor tasks like writing or buttoning a shirt, and how independently they manage daily routines like dressing and self-care. It helps children who are unusually sensitive to sound, touch or movement, and children who struggle with handwriting or coordination.

  • We begin with a sensory and motor assessment to understand exactly where your child needs support.
  • Sessions happen in a structured, play-based sensory environment designed to make regulation feel natural.
  • We give you specific, practical sensory strategies to use at home and during outings.
  • Where behaviour is linked to a sensory trigger, we coordinate directly with the ABA or behavioural therapy team.

Behavioural Therapy at The Outcomes ABA Chennai

Behavioural Therapy

Behavioural therapy centres on understanding why a behaviour is happening, through a functional behaviour assessment, before deciding how to address it. From there we build an individualised behaviour intervention plan that teaches a replacement skill. This helps children showing aggression, frequent meltdowns, elopement, self-injury or persistent defiance.

  • We never build a behaviour plan without first completing a functional assessment.
  • Every plan teaches a specific replacement behaviour, not just consequences for the one we're reducing.
  • The same plan is shared with school and home wherever possible.
  • We give parents concrete de-escalation guidance for moments a plan alone can't prevent.

Special Education

Special education support covers individualised academic planning, remedial teaching in specific subjects, and adapting how material is taught to match how your child actually learns. This supports children with diagnosed learning delays and children who are trying hard but consistently falling behind academically.

  • We assess reading, writing and maths separately to find exactly where the gap is.
  • Teaching plans are built around your child's actual school curriculum wherever possible.
  • We use multisensory teaching methods matched to how your child learns best.
  • We coordinate directly with your child's classroom teacher where the school is open to it.

Early Intervention at The Outcomes ABA Chennai

Early Intervention

Early intervention is therapy support introduced as early as possible, generally before age 6. It doesn't always require a finalised diagnosis to begin. It's designed for toddlers showing delayed speech or social development, and any child a paediatrician has flagged for developmental review.

  • Sessions are short, play-based and low-pressure, matched to a young child's attention span.
  • Parent coaching is central, since toddlers spend far more time at home than in any therapy centre.
  • We work alongside your paediatrician if a formal diagnostic evaluation is still in progress.
  • Goals focus on foundational skills, joint attention, early communication and social engagement.
My child hasn't been diagnosed yet, can we still start therapy? +

Yes. Early, play-based support can begin based on a developmental screening while a formal diagnostic evaluation is arranged.

Parent Training

Parent training is structured coaching for parents and caregivers, so the strategies used in therapy sessions carry over consistently into home routines, mealtimes, sleep and everyday family life. This benefits any family currently in therapy and any caregiver who wants to be working from the same playbook.

  • Therapists demonstrate strategies live during sessions so you can watch them in action.
  • You get take-home guides written in plain language, not clinical jargon.
  • We check in regularly on what's actually working at home, and adjust based on your real feedback.

School Readiness at The Outcomes ABA Chennai

School Readiness

A school readiness program prepares a child for the specific demands of a classroom, sitting for instruction, following multi-step directions, managing transitions, and interacting appropriately with peers. This helps children about to enter mainstream school and children transitioning from a special school setting.

  • We simulate real classroom routines in-centre, circle time, transitions, group activities.
  • Social skills practice happens with peers, since much of what a classroom demands is inherently social.
  • Where possible, we coordinate directly with the receiving school on its specific routines.

Consultation Services

Consultation services connect our clinical team directly with schools and paediatric or medical specialists, so a child's support plan reflects input from everyone involved in their care. This helps parents unsure what kind of support their child needs, and schools looking for guidance on supporting a specific student.

  • School consultation: guidance for teachers and staff on supporting a specific child's needs.
  • Paediatric and hospital consultation: coordination with your child's doctor or specialist.
  • A single point of contact so you're not repeating your child's history to every new provider.

Autism Assessment at The Outcomes ABA Chennai

Autism Assessment

An autism and developmental assessment is a structured evaluation of a child's communication, social interaction, behaviour, and motor and sensory skills, combining direct observation, standardised tools and a detailed conversation with parents. This is recommended for children showing possible early signs of autism or referred for a developmental review.

  • Assessments are led by a qualified professional using recognised, standardised tools.
  • We gather a detailed developmental history directly from parents.
  • Results are explained in a dedicated feedback session, in plain language, with clear next steps.

Social Skills Training

Social skills training gives children structured practice at specific interactions many peers pick up naturally, taking turns, starting a conversation, reading facial expressions and joining group play. This helps children who want friendships but struggle to form or keep them.

  • Small group sessions give children real peer practice, not just one-on-one coaching.
  • We use role-play and guided practice to break down specific social situations a child finds difficult.
  • Where possible, we coordinate with school staff on how skills are showing up during actual school play.

Life Skills Training at The Outcomes ABA Chennai

Life Skills Training

Life skills training focuses on the practical, everyday tasks that build independence: self-care and hygiene, dressing, basic meal preparation, understanding money, and safety awareness in the community. This is especially valuable for older children and teens preparing for greater independence.

  • We break each skill down into smaller, teachable steps, rather than expecting a child to absorb a whole routine at once.
  • Practice happens in settings as close to real life as possible.
  • We work directly with families so the same steps are reinforced consistently at home.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

General questions

What is ABA therapy? +

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is an evidence-based approach that breaks skills into small, teachable steps and uses positive reinforcement to build them, while reducing behaviours that interfere with learning and daily life.

Is ABA only for children with autism? +

ABA is most commonly used for autism spectrum disorder, but the same principles can support children with ADHD, developmental delays and behavioural challenges more broadly.

Do you require a formal diagnosis before starting? +

Not always. For younger children especially, we can begin supportive, play-based therapy based on a developmental screening while a formal diagnostic evaluation is arranged.
